TORONTO — The Toronto International Soccer Show is coming to the Direct Energy Centre in downtown Toronto from January 22 -24th, 2010 and word has gotten out that futsal is going to be a big part of it.
FutsalCanada has confirmed that an agreement is in place between the organizers of the Winter Futsal Classic and TISS to take the current tournament and infuse it with the huge trade show into what is currently being billled as the Toronto Invitational Futsal Tournament.
We are very pleased to have completed this deal as we know that futsal is the present and future of indoor soccer worldwide and now is the chance to show North America just how great it is.
It was logical that with all the soccer equipment manufacturers, parents, coaches, players, sponsors, referees, decision-makers, et cetera that will be in attendance that we offer an exciting, high quality tournament and we really believe that this will become one of North America’s elite tournaments year in year out.

So far the plan is to host divisions for U14 and U16 boys and girls in addition to an elite mens division. There is a possibility that an U18 division will be created as well. Two high quality sport tile surfaces will be planted right in the heart of the trade show itself while 2 more large gymnasiums have also been booked for the games.
The plan also calls for the invitations to go out to provincial and state futsal champions in each age group with special invites going out to teams from Brazil, Mexico, Spain, and the Middle East to make it a truly international event. Top futsal referees will also be scouted and invited.
If the tournament itself wasn’t enough, discussions are currently ongoing to bring in FIFA Futsal Referee and Coaching Instructors for clinics during the week of the event.

I have a U18 Girl team that play Elite in the South Region will there be a U18 Division?
we have an overtime 2 year undefeated U18 girls soccer team thats been together for 3 or more years that are interested in this tournament, from brantford.. what more teams are going to be there? this would be an awesome reach out for myself and the other girls on our team!
