Four TFC Academy players have been invited to take part in the Canadian U17 camp that will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico. The series of preparatory matches is in advance to next year’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Nigeria.
Attending from the TFC Academy are: midfielder Brennan McNicoll, midfielder/forward Jonathon Lao, forward Allando Matheson, and goalkeeper Garret Cyprus.
The Canadian team, coached by Sean Fleming, will play five exhibition matches against local club teams from November 21 December 3. Their opponents include Chivas, Atlas, and Tecos.
The 2009 CONCACAF Men’s U17 Championship will take place next spring in Mexico. This will be the first time since 1996 that CONCACAF has scheduled a Men’s U17 championship.
