Since the demise of North American big league soccer years agaon talented Canadian players have been jettisoned out of Canada to European destinations to find their niche in a professional soccer environment. Canadian players are now scattered throughout European soccer’s vast melting pot and far displaced from their Canadian roots.

Imagine for a moment that your path in life started like this … You were born and raised near an old soccer stadium … in the heart of the old Europe near the FK Rapid Stadium in historic Bratislava, Slovakia.
The young boy, Latso, watched his grandfather referee the home team, his grandmother laundered the team’s uniforms. Latso played soccer as a boy, but in high school, he gravitated toward construction and basic engineering. On February 2, 2006, Latso’s Seda Seating got the seating contract for BMO Field at Exhibition Place in Toronto.
A TESTING GROUND FOR CANADA
One thing about the Under-20 World Cup is the fact there i no really declared favorite. Sure, Argentina is highly regarded and so is Brazil,but both countries are living off past reputation and that of their senior teams, rather than accomplishments of their current Under-20 crew.
The upcoming world tournament for young players staged for the first time in Canada kicks off June 30 at Montreal and Ottawa. It is the nature of the U-20 tournament that none of the 24 teams involved have any distinct track record other that that they qualified in their regional elimination.
Canada steps up to the plate on July 1 when the tournament host will take on Chile.
